 It's our 40th birthday and we have so much to celebrate!

My father started Guidecraft in 1964 in a small woodshop, producing 10 items. I purchased the company in 1995 and have continued to develop the line, which now includes over 160 educational toys and furnishings. Our size has changed, but our mission remains the same; stay true to the tradition of smart, beautifully crafted wood products, which allow children's minds and imaginations room to truly wonder and grow.

Play is discovery and exploration, and joy, and growth, and learning, and so much more. And for us play is serious work.  So when we bring play to life, we do it with a commitment to the finest in craftsmanship and creativity. All of our products, from the newest concepts to our time-tested classics, are designed to delight our consumers large and small.

Bunnies By The Bay is noted for choosing the most lush of fabrics and then bringing the charm of wit and whimsy to all designs that reach hearts far and wide.

It all began years ago in 1984 when two sisters' hearts were broken by the loss of dear family members.  The girls' father Ron, uncle George, cousin Jeff and brother Tony, all fishermen, were literally lost at sea.  Krystal and Suzanne then began to bring joy back into their lives by creating a whimsical home for their handmade bunnies. “The Attaberry Mending Shop" is located in La Conner, a sleepy little fishing town off the coast of Washington State.  In this very little house the hearts of both sisters began to mend.  The bunny charm exists today softly spoken in so many ways,

"Bunnies are our best friends indeed, They do delight and give glad dreams."

The house is now our Workshop Museum of archival bunnies embellished with fanciful trims and fun filled messages expressing our story's playful wit and whim.  Bunnies By The Bay may be found in your neighborhood shop or as near as our website. We continue to celebrate Glad Dreams…and so our Hareytale does continue...
